The trends are dead, long live the style

It has everything: Minimalism, maximalism, baroque. Pastel colors, acid colors, fluorescent colors, bright colors, dusty ... Black. White. They take flowers, geometric patterns, stripes, bananas. Safari animal print (again), green hunting, air browser. Pants can choose from: skinny, wide fishing, capri, bell, shorts, bermudas ... Skirts: mini, maxi, Supermaxi. Pleated, with volume, narrow, super pipe. Clothes ... the ones you want: mono or kimono, dress, dress, executioner, Caftan, Tunic ... Fabrics: silk, jeans, Payet, jacket, linen, crochet ... and all mixed up. How old to reinvent? All: 40, 50, 60 or 70, 80 or 90. In every age, a pattern, a look, a pattern ... if you raise the loft, everything can have a new life. Although each season the fashion professionals do collection trends, the trends have died. The style is what matters.

Just before if we do not carry. And, the effect of superglobalización and booming fashion industry marked the end of trends. Azzedine Alaïa recently stated in Women's Wear Daily: "The current rate is inhumane fashion: Too many collections and too much pressure" (via @ etorriente). The fashion industry behaves in an exasperated way, nervous, restless ... Fashion moves to the sound of venture capital groups, major economic objectives. Stripped of romance (at least for the merchants who benefit from it) and destroyed, the industry makes everything "to see if it succeeds." And does it well, like, and how you want, is born. Ergo, "takes all."

On the street things are happening too. And on the Internet. This giant out of control that moves the pieces without anyone knowing. Displayed the bloggers, the new influencers, Street Style. Is inverted pyramid of influence. Upper-class once marked the desire of what we all lead. Now the influence is born in the street. The Sartorialist (and become celebrity), Hanneli Mustaparta, Jack & Jill, ... There are hundreds of blogs and all images show desirable original people, different personality. Anonymous style. We want to be like them. The style is a supreme being that surpasses the trend. Take what you wear is fine if it suits you.

Do not forget that we are a very special group of generations (and I say group because many generations are doomed to "destendencia" fashion). Born in the era of the image. We are native film libraries. Our aesthetic is saturated with influences. We relive our memories aesthetic looks all last season because last time all of Love Story in Working Girl, is a film with an aesthetic that fascinates us. We are victims of film, advertising, television, the Internet, the infoxication. Is not this to a infoxication trends in itself? And is not the personality style that sticks in the chaos?

There was a book in the early 90's: The End of History and the Last Man, in Fukiyama, which was very controversial. It talked about the end of ideology, the end of bipartisanship. Capitalism and communism were no longer enemies. Then the quiet was policy not to think about what happened next. The 11S triggered an enormous change, the crisis that came after ... We've also seen a marked revival struggle of left and right.

Maybe, I doubt it, something similar happens in fashion and demos reverse. Unexpected things may happen and abhor such mixture, that everything and anything, that crazy and want all this confusion and bring order again. At least, I've read lately in a tweet: "everything is more of the same."
