The last August news broke that Miuccia Prada collaborate with Baz Luhrmann to create the costumes for the new movie Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mullygan, The Great Gatsby. Not until later in the year when we see the 40 dresses on display, but we already have advance Miuccia four sketches to give us an idea of what to expect.
All dresses are inspired by both past collections of Prada as his little sister, Miu Miu, but have adapted to the particularities of the film. An example of that inspiration is this organza dress with plastic scales that we saw in the autumn-winter 2011 from Prada.
Not the first time that Miuccia Prada and Baz Luhrmann work together. They did it in 1996 creating an outfit for Leonardo DiCaprio in "Romeo and Juliet" and more recently in the creation of a series of short exposure to MET "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations"
